What is Recipe Binder?
Recipe Binder is a Facebook application and website (at www.recipebinder.co.uk) that allows you to share your recipes with your friends and the wider internet. You can also find recipes (submitted by real people) from over 20,000. If you find a recipe you like add it to your favourites, share it or print it. You can also comment on and rate recipes, and add Recipe Binder as a tab to your Facebook profile.
Can I use Recipe Binder on my Facebook page?
Yes. For a quick start why not watch these short video tutorials. How to add Recipe Binder to your Facebook Page and How to make a recipe appear in your recipes tab on your Facebook Page
If you are an administrator of a Facebook Page you'll be given the option, when adding your recipe, to say it is "submitted by ...". Choose the page you want the recipe to appear on from the drop down list. If you have added Recipe Binder to your Facebook page, then these recipes will appear in the tab.

I can't see the button to add Recipe Binder to my Facebook page?
Try reloading, it doesn't show the first time you load Recipe Binder, as at that point I don't know you're a page admin. If you still don't see the button after reloading then you ma not be an admin of a suitable Facebook Page.
What do you mean by Facebook page?
A Facebook Page isn't your personal profile page, but a special page setup to promote something. Sometime it is referred to as a fan page, or business page. If you administer a page, you will normally see it listed when you visit the Facebook pages area - http://www.facebook.com/pages/manage/
Can I add the Recipe Binder tab to my profile?
No. Facebook have discontinued application tabs on personal profile pages, so it is no longer possible to have Recipe Binder as a tab on your personal profile. (Note, application tabs for Facebook pages are still supported by Facebook, see question above).
For slightly more information please see the announcment made to developers about this change here.
How do I invite friends to use Recipe Binder?

When I open Recipe Binder is just keeps “flashing”?
This is a problem in Recipe Binder for Facebook related to cookies in older browsers. Ensure your browser is up to date (see below), and that your cookie security settings are set on the normal setting.
Which browsers does Recipe Binder support?
Recipe Binder works best in IE 8.0, FireFox 3.6+, and Google Chrome 5+. It should also work in Safari, although I haven't tested this.
IE 7.0 should work but has some display quirks, and IE 6.0 is not supported.
When I open Recipe Binder it “flashes” once then is fine, what's happening?
This is down to the way Facebook Connect works, in order to detect you are logged in to Facebook, I first need to load a version where you are logged out, then refresh (or flash) it when I detect you are logged in.
Does Recipe Binder require JavaScript?
Yes.

What are tags?
Tags are a useful way of categorising your recipe without using pre-defined categories. Tags also help users find your recipe when searching. Just enter the tags that apply to your recipe, some examples are given on the add recipe page.

You don't need to provide this permission, but if you want to use a photo from your Facebook account this is the only way Recipe Binder can access it. You used to be able to do this without providing this permission, but Facebook updated their permission guidelines to stop this from happening.
Can I upload a photo?
Yes. Choose a file, click Upload photo!
Can I include more than one photo with my recipe?
Not at the moment, but is something I plan to improve on in the future.
Is there somewhere to add nutritional information?
No, as Recipe Binder can be used all over the world different countries and cultures have various measurements for nutrition. Therefore I've decided not to include nutritional information in Recipe Binder.
