Orange Chutney

Ingredients

4 orange
2 apples
1/2 lb brown sugar
4oz raisins
4 oz preserved ginger
1/2 oz chopped chillies
1 pint malt vinegar (has to be malt)
1 oz salt
a little pepper
1 onion

Method

Peel the oranges, remove pips and puth and cut into small pieces. Peel, core and chop apples finely. Chop the onion. Put these into a pan with the other ingredients and boil slowly until the fruit is tender (about 1 hour).

Spoon into warm jars and seal.
