Vegan sour cream (or yoghurt)

A vegan subsitute for sour cream with baked potatos, steamed greens, perogies or anywhere you would have had sour cream.

Serves: 2 Cups
Difficulty: Easy - for beginners

Preparation time:

Dietary guidance: v v 

Ingredients

Block silken tofu
tbsp horseradish
tbsp nutritional yeast
olive or sunflower oil
water
1/2 medium onion

Method

Blend together (blender) all ingredients & add oil until smooth. For mayonaise like consistency use only or mostly oil. For a sauce that flows use some water.

Variations

Add one or two of:
tahini (great for veg shwarma)
garlic cloves (to taste)
dijon mustard
miso
lemon, lime, or tamerind
herbs (basil, or dill, or???)
wine or balsamic vinegar or mirin

whatever appeals to you....

For yoghurt like:
tsp lemon
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
