Cheesy Batons with Salsa Dip

One for the kids - but big kids love it too!

Ingredients

60g (2oz) wholemeal flour, sieved
120g (4oz) grated cheese
2 tbsp milk
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1 green pepper, finely chopped
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp oil
4 tomatoes, chopped

Method

Fry the pepper, onion and garlic in the oil until soft
Add chopped tomatoes and season if salt & pepper if desired
Simmer for 10 mins
When mixture is "mushy" spoon into serving dish and allow to cool.
Preheat oven to 190 C /375 F / Gas Mark 5 & lightly grease baking tray
Rub cheese into sieved flour until mixture is crumbly
Add milk to bind to a dough-like consistency
Roll out the dough until approx 1/4inch (1cm) thick
Cut the dough into baton shaped sticks - approx 15 batons
Place on baking tray & bake for around 10-15mins
Allow to cool slightly and serve with salsa
Good finger food for kids.
