Oriental steamed soy chicken and vegetables

A simple,tasty healthy chicken dish.

Ingredients

4 tablespoon's of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of honey
pinch of chilli flakes
2 chicken breasts or 4 chicken thigh's skinned,boned and cut into strips
100g/4oz choi sum or pak choi
75g/3oz of shitake mushrooms
50g/2oz bean sprouts
2 salad onions,thinly sliced
boiled rice to serve .Also a bamboo steamer.

Method

1 Mix the soy,honey and chilli together in a shallow bowl.Add the chicken pieces,then place in a bamboo steamer.Cover and sit over a pan of boiling water for 10 minutes.
2 Cut the choi sum into 12 cm lengths or quarter the pak choi and halve the mushrooms.Toss together and place in 2nd layer of the bamboo steamer.Scatter the bean sprouts and salad onions over the top.
3 lift the steamer containing the chicken and sit the vegetable layer directly over the pan ,withe chicken over the veg.
4 Return the bamboo stack to the pan and steam for a further 3-4 mins untill the veg is tender,but still crisp and the chicken cooked through.
5 Serve with the boiled rice and enjoy.
You can vary the veg you use,I'm not a big fan of bean sprouts,they are a bit of a nothing veg to me,I've tried it with spinach,also sweetheart cabbage is a fave.It's very simple and very healthy.I hope you enjoy it.
