Hot Fudge Sundae Cake

Warm chocolate cake with gooey fudge sauce all in one pan. Put a bit of ice cream on top and you have a delicious hot fudge sundae with cake! No extra dishes to dirty--just mix in the baking dish and bake!

Ingredients

1 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 TB cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
2 TB oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 3/4 cups very hot water

Method

Mix flour, sugar, 2TB cocoa, baking powder and salt in 8x8" baking pan. Mix in milk, oil and vanilla with a fork until smooth. Stir in nuts (optional). Spread evenly in 8x8" pan (I use 8x11" pan to reduce overflow of sauce!). Sprinkle with brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Pour very hot water over batter (hot tap water is fine). Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Serve straight from the oven. Top with ice cream.
