1.)Drain mandarin orange juice into a small container to use later.
2.)Prepare cake mix according to the directions on the package. Use the mandarin juice in place of the liquid/water called for in the recipe.
3.)Cut oranges into small pieces and add to the cake batter.
4.)While the cake is baking drain the crushed pineapple very well and mix together with the cool whip, refrigerate.
5.)Once cake has cooled frost with the pineapple and cool whip mixture.
6.)Refrigerate the cake until served.
1.)Make sure the oranges and pineapple are drained very well.
2.)This recipe is very fluid. I based this on a 13x9 inch cake but if you have a smaller cake feel free to add less oranges, or maybe you like more! I’ve even made this in muffin pans for individual treats. Make it your own!
