Italian Meat Red Sauce


Serves: 6+ Preparation time: Cooking time: Difficulty: Easy - for beginners


Ingredients

1lb sweet Italian sausage
1lb Ground Beef
1/2 cup chopped onions
2-3 cloves of chopped garlic
1 28oz can of crushed tomatoes
2 6oz cans of tomato paste
2 8oz cans tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground pepper
2 tbsp white sugar
2 tsp freshly chopped Basil leaves
2 tbsp freshly chopped Italian parsley


Method

1. Brown the beef, sausage, onion, garlic in a pot with a tsp of olive oil on medium high heat.
2. Add all the tomato products and water in and blend together.
3. Add everything else and stir.
4. Simmer for 1.5 - 3hrs on low heat stirring occasionally.
