Sunghta Humman (Konkani Shrimp fish curry)

Traditional Konkani fish ghasshi(curry), very tasty and easy to prepare in USA. This is a modified version of the original recipe.


Serves: 4-5 Preparation time: Cooking time: Difficulty: Easy - for beginners


Ingredients

Cleaned, peeled, deveined tiger shrimp + about 1 lb
2 tsp chilli pdr,
hing,( indian spice asafoetida)
and a tsp of coconut or vegetable oil,
1 can coconut milk,
tamarind paste
salt to taste


Method

Heat 1-2 tbsp of oil, add chilli pdr, hing , salt until roasted.
Add a can of coconut milk and 2 cans of water, and 1/2 tsp of light color tamarind paste
Once the mixture is hot add the shrimps and cook until they turn orange.
This curry should be simmerd and cooked on very low heat.
