Made in the slow cooker, from Cooking Light Magazine
Serves: 10 Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
Ingredients
2 cups chopped onion
Cooking spray
3/4 cup ketchup
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon dry mustard
3 (16-ounce) cans light red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
6 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled (drained)
Method
1. Saute onion in a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat 4 minutes or until tender.
2. Place onion and remaining ingredients in a 3 1/2- to 4-quart electric slow cooker; stir well. Cover with lid; cook on low-heat setting 6 hours.
