1 - Baguette or French Stick
1 - Ripe Tomato
1 - Iceberg Lettuce
1 - Bacon In A Box
( Schneiders Fully Cooked Bacon In A Blue Box )
Parmesan Cheese - slices or shavings
I like to add some red onion slices - this is optional
3 Tblspoons Canola or Sunflower Oil
1 Tblspoon Balsamic Vinegar
1/4 Teaspoon dried Oregano - or to taste
Pinch of Black Pepper
This recipe only works with real parmesan cheese. Please do not use the kraft sprinkles - it would be an embarrassment to the sandwich. I like to get my tomatoes from a market stand or use organic for better taste and quality.
Cut your baguette or french stick into three sections around 6 inches each - for three sandwiches. Slice open and toast. Meanwhile slice your tomato and rip off some of that crunchy iceberg lettuce. Open your box of bacon and microwave according to directions. Slice or shave some parmesan cheese, enough for three sandwiches. Combine your oil and vinegar and dried oregano, whisk to combine.
Ok - Everyone following me ? Place lettuce on the bottom layer, then a layer of tomato, optional onion, a layer of bacon (usually 4 slices) a layer of parmesan cheese. I like to add some parsley flakes and a bit of cracked black pepper, this is optional. Place one tablespoon of the dressing over sandwich.
