Simple Sponge Cake / Bun or Fairy Cake

Really easy to make, and simple to remember recipe

Ingredients

2 eggs
4oz sugar
4oz self raising flour
4oz soft marg / butter

additionally - cocoa powder to make a choccie flavour or food colouring to make different coloured cakes or flavouring to make different flavours or currants / raisins to make fruity cakes. Otherwise as above to make plain cakes!

Method

1. set oven to 180 degrees C
2. either line a sponge cake tin OR paper cases for bun/fairy cake tray

USING EITHER A BOWL & SPOON OR MIXER:
3.mix the sugar and butter
4. the mix in flour
5.slowly mix in eggs
6.spoon mixture into cases
7. put in oven for 20-25 mins (depending on if using fan assisted over)
8. lick the bowl while waiting till cake/s are gold brown
9. eat on their own or with icing
