Potato Gratin (simple)

A nice simple and creamy potato gratin suitable to accompany almost any dish or even by itself.

Ingredients

10 Potatoes
1.5 Yellow Onions
500 ml Cream half n' half
2 Garlic cloves
1.5 tsp salt
2 pinch blackpepper
200 ml grated cheese

Method

1. Put the oven on 225 degrees C
2. Butter an oven proof dish
3. Peel and slice the potatoes fairly thin (<5 mm)
4. Chop the onions (can be sliced as rings too if you like)
5. Mix cream, pressed garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl
6. put half the potatoes and all the onions in the dish
7. pour half the cream mix in the dish
8. layer the rest of the potatoes in the dish and pour the remaining cream mix in.
9. Sprinkle the cheese over the potatoes
10. bake in the oven until the potatoes are soft (about 45 mins)
