Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs- beating until creamy, then add flour and baking powder. Divide dough into 16 parts. roll into flattened ball. Put them in the fridge for 2 hours. grease cookie sheet. Roll out ball 1/16 inch thick. Spread on jam. Cover with another piece of rolled out dough. Crimp and seal the edges. Sprinkle with topping. Bake at 350 F for 5 mintues then prick then bake for another 5 mintues. Let cool.
