Preparation time: 15 mins
Cooking time: 1 hour

Serves: 1 fat person or 4 normal

Dietary guidance: v

5 Bramley apples apples
250 g brown sugar
200 g plain white flour
120 g butter
Ground cinammon

Peel, core and chop the apples in to smallish chunks. Put in a saucepan together with 3/4 of the sugar and a sprinkling of cinammon. Stew on a low heat for half an hour with a lid on the pan, stirring every so often to avoid burning. You want the apples to end up soft but not pureed. Transfer apples to a shallow baking dish and allow to cool. Meanwhile make the crumble topping by mixing the flour, butter and remaining sugar in a bowl. Mix with fingers until you get a breadcrumb constency. Cover the apples with the crumble mixture. Place dish in to a preheated oven at 200 degrees C for half an hour or until crumble has gone slightly brown and crispy on top. Serve with custard, cream or ice cream.
