3/4 c. flat beer
2/3 c. water
1/4 c. chopped green onions, optional
2 T mustard
1/2 c. bacon, cooked and very finely crumbled
1/4 c. grated cheddar cheese
4 1/4 c. strong white flour
1 T. sugar
1 t. salt
1 1/2 t. yeast
Put all ingredients in the bread pan in order. Set to the crust darkness of your choice; set it for a 2 lb loaf, and let the machine go to town!
The recipe doesn't originally say so, but make sure the water is warm, or your yeast won't rise. I have occasionally had problems with this. The good news is, the bread has been eaten extremely quickly even when it didn't rise properly.
You can also make this recipe omitting the cheese altogether.
