Brownie Sundae

Classic brownie sundae, a mix of hot and cold that is sure to cure your blues.

Preparation time: 20 min
Cooking time: 30 min @ 350°

Serves: 12


4 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
3 large eggs
1/2 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup all-purose flour
1 tsp vanill extract

Chocolate sauce:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
4 oz semisweet chocolate
2 tbsp cornsyrup
1/2 tsp rum extract
pinch of salt

3 pints vanilla ice cream


Heat oven to 350°. Line 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking pan with nonstick foil, leaving overhang.

In saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over medium hear, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat, stir in sugar, salt and walnuts. Stir in eggs, one at a time. Stir in chocolate chips, flour and vanilla. Pour into prepared pan.

Bake @ 350° for 30 min.

In saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over med heat, stirring until smooth. Stir in corn syrup, rum extract and salt. Keep warm.

Lift brownie from pan. While still warm, cut into 1-inch peices. Place 4 in a bowl. Top with 1/2 cup ice cream and 2 more peices. Drizzle with sauce and serve.
