Chili Con Queso Dip

2 slices bacon, chopped
2 Tblsp onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can (14.5oz) rotel tomatoes, undrained
1 t ground cumin
1/2 t salt
1/2 t dried whole oregano
1/4 t ground black pepper
4 c (16oz) velvetta cheese, grated


1. In a large saucepan, cook bacon until crisp
2. Add onion and garlic and cook until onion is soft, about 5 minutes
3. Stir in next 6 ingredients, blending well
4. Reduce heat to low and gradually add cheese, stirring until melted
5. Serve hot with tortilla or corn chips
