2 cups white granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk (I use no fat milk)
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup margerine or butter
1/8 tsp salt
3 cups of Quick Oats
7 heaping tablespoons of good quality Cocoa (I like Fry's)
1 cup of shredded sweetened coconut
Put oats, cocoa and coconut in bowl and set aside.
Place both cups of white sugar along with margerine, milk, vanilla, and salt in a pot and slightly stir together until milk covers sugar. Put the temperature on HI and watch carefully for the mixture to come to a rolling boil. This is the first sign of boiling, AS SOON as you see this, immediately take the mixture off the element and add the dry mixture to it.
Fold in dry mixture until completely covered.
Drop by spoonfull onto tin foil or wax paper, let cool.
