1 Garlic clove, crushed
1/2 inch piece of Ginger, peeled and minced
1/4 tsp tumeric
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp hot chili sauce
2 tsp Thai fish sauce or soy sauce
2 tbsp chopped cilantro
juice of 1/2 lime
2 cups cooked Long grain white rice
1 cup chopped peanuts
oil for deep frying
Put garlic, ginger and tumeric in food processor and process until it becomes a paste. Add sugar,salt, chili sauce,cilantro, lime juice and fish sauce. Process briefly to mix the ingredients.
Add 3/4's of the cooked rice to the the paste in the food processor and process until smooth and sticky. Transfer to a bowl and stir in the remaining rice.
Wet your hands and form into thumb size balls.
Place the copped peanuts into a dish and roll the balls in them until they are evenly coated.
Deep fry the peanut bals until they are crisp and transfer to a paper towel.
Serve with lime wedges or chili dipping sauce.
