"Giddy Up!" Southwestern Turkey Burgers

A healthier burger with a lil' bit of "Giddy Up!"

8 slices of bacon
1 pkg. ground turkey (or other ground meat)
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1/4 red onion, finely chopped
2 Tbs. fresh thyme, chopped
2 Tbs. fresh cilantro (or parsley), chopped
1/2 small bell pepper, whichever colour you prefer, seeded and finely chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped (optional)
2 Tsp. ground cumin
1-2 Tsp (or several drops) hot sauce
2 Tsp. Montreal Steak Seasoning
Olive Oil, for drizzling
Deli sliced Cheese -pepper jack


Chop Veggies and Garlic.

Cook bacon.

while bacon cooks, combine meat, garlic, onion, thyme, cilantro, bell & jalapeno peppers, cumin, hot sauce, Montreal steak seasoning.

Form 4 patties and drizzle with olive oil to coat.
Place on grill and heat 5-6 mins. on each side (until no longer pinkish)

Place sliced cheese over the patties in the last 2 mins. of cooking.

Place the burgers into buns and pile 'em high with your favourite toppings (including that bacon you cooked) and ENJOY!!
