Cut the butter into the flour, sugar and salt mixture as you would for pie dough. Pack it into the bottom of a 9X13 pan, push the sides up about ½ inch. It will be thick.
Bake for 20 minutes in a 350o oven.
Beat by hand the eggs, sugar flour and lemon juice. Pour over baked crust. Bake 25 minutes.
After it cools to lukewarm, sprinkle confectioners sugar on top in a thick layer, so no filling shows through.
