Cinnamon Almond Coffee Cake

-1/2 C butter (8 T) + 2 T melted
-1 C white sugar
-2 eggs
-2 C all-purpose flour
-1 Tsp. baking soda
-1 Tsp. baking powder
-1 C sour cream (8 oz. container)
-1 Tsp. vanilla extract
-1 C chopped almonds
-1/2 C brown sugar
-2 Tsp. ground cinnamon

-1/4 C flour


1: Preheat oven for 350 degrees F
2: Grease and flour a 9X9 inch pan (I used Pam and about 1/4 C of flour)
3: Combine the flour, baking soda and baking powder and set aside
4: In another bowl, cream together the sugar, butter (1/2 C...not the melted butter), and eggs until smooth
5: Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and beat together until smooth
6: Stir in sour cream and vanilla
7: In another bowl, mix together the almonds, brown sugar and cinnamon
8: Spread half of the batter into the pan
9: Sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture over the batter
10: Spread the rest of the batter into the pan
11: Top the batter with the rest of the cinnamon mixture and then the melted butter
12: Bake for 1 hour or until the cake springs back to the touch (my cake actually bakes in about 50 minutes)
