Rice Pudding

very few ingredients, a little time, classic goodness.

Serves: 4

1 quart whole milk
1/2 cup long grain rice
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla


Put milk and rice in a 2 qt saucepan. Cook together on medium low heat for at least an hour...probably longer. Stirring almost constantly until rice is soft and milk is thickened. Beat the egg with sugar and vanilla. Add to pudding. Pour into dessert cups. Serve warm or cold. Garnish with raisins, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
