Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
2 1/2 sticks of butter
2 tablespoons of Mexican vanilla/Madagascar (This type of vanilla makes all the difference. Can find at Whole Foods)
1 tablespoon milk
3 egg yolks
2 tablespoon egg white
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cup of flour
Nuts (chopped pecans, walnuts): optional
Allow butter to soften and place in mixer. Blend with salt, baking powder and sugar.
Add the egg yolks and blend.
Add the egg white and blend.
Add vanilla and milk and blend.
Add flour gradually and blend until thoroughly mixed.
Add nuts if desired and mix.
Preheat oven to 325-350.
Cover cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
Drop tablespoon sized cookies onto cookie sheet and bake 10-15 minutes until slightly golden brown around edges.
Let cool before removing from cookie sheet.
