Nanna Christian's Tuna Slice

Tasty Tuna - easy mid week

185-200 gm can tuna
1 egg, beaten
1 gherkin / dill pickle chopped
1 stick celery, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
80 mls evaporated milk - eg Carnation Milk
1 small pack potato crisps, crushed
salt & pepper


1. Combine all ingredients except evaporated milk and mix until well combined

2. Place in greased casserole dish or loaf tin or slice tin etc

3. Add in some of the evaporated milk & mix - slowly add

4. Bake in oven at 180oC for 20-30 minutes until browned on top

when adding evaporated milk .. don't add too much - will be too liquid
or if add too little - would be too dry
- add only a little evaporated milk and press down with fork
- keep adding and mixing a little evaporated milk until only a little of the milk can be seen when pressed with fork
