In a small bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs, Add milk tossing with a fork until ball forms. Turn onto a lightly floured surface, knead 4-6 times( with any other flours then wheat you may not want to knead as much or may seem like you need to add more liquid, overkneading other flours will make tough biscuits, these are very much trial and error type of biscuits) Roll out or i just pat down and make into a rectangle sort of shape, cut into four, put butter on top if you wish. bake in preheated 450F for 9-11mins or until golden brown, makes four bisciuts.
If you are using pure whole buckwheat flour may i suggest put half that and half anohter flour, the whole buckwheat flour is very dense and will not make the biscuits moist at all! Enjoy!!!!
I just like this recipe because i have been using different flours and starches and its a recipe where im not gonna wast a whole lot of anything!!
