Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
1¾ cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp thyme, dried
2 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
½ tsp salt
¾ cup milk
Mix together the flour, baking powder, herbs, and salt. Beat in the milk to make a thick batter.
Heat 2 inches of oil in a wok, deep frying pan, or deep fryer. The oil should be hot enough to brown a cube of bread in about 1 1/2 minutes. Fry spoonfuls of the batter, in batches, for 4-4 minutes, they should be puffed, golden brown,and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
