Combine butter, 3/4 cup sugar, flour, baking power, salt and milk. Blend well and pour into 1 1/2 qt casserole or 9 " sq baking pan. Combine 1/3 cup sugar (more if needed) and fruit. Pour over batter. Bake @ 375 for 40 minutes. It takes longer in a deeper pan. I had to turn up the heat to 425 after 40 minutes in the 1 1/2 qt casserole and bake an additional 10 - 15 minutes til nice and brown.
