Ham & Pasta Bake

2 cups pasta (Rotini)
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon onion flakes
2 ½ cups milk
10 oz. (300 g) frozen chopped broccoli
2 cups (3/4 lb., 340 g) diced or cubed ham
¾ cup grated sharp cheese
2 tablespoons hard butter or margarine
½ cup of fine dry bread crumbs


Preheat Oven 350°F
Cook pasta until tender but firm. Drain pasta. Combine flour, salt, pepper, dry mustard and onion flakes in medium pot. Gradually mix in milk so no lumps remain. Heat and stir until boiling and thickened. Cook broccoli in another pot of boiling water until tender-crisp. Drain. Add to sauce. Stir in pasta. Stir in ham and cheese. Turn into un-greased 2 quart (2L) casserole dish. Topping: Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in bread crumbs. Sprinkle over all. Bake in a 350°F oven for 30 minutes or till browned.
