Difficulty: Easy - for beginners


1/2 c butter, softened
1 pkg yellow cake mix
1 egg
3 c mini marshmallows
1/2 c light corn syrup
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c creamy peanut butter
2 t vanilla
2 c Rice Krispies
2 c salted peanuts
1 c candy corn
Note: If you use chunky peanut butter, increase the amount of peanut butter and decrease the peanuts. If unsalted peanuts are used, add a little salt to the peanut butter mix.


Combine butter and cake mix. Beat on low speed until well mixed. Add the egg. Beat until well mixed. Press into ungreased 15 x 10. Bake 350 for 12 - 15 min. Place marshmallows on top and bake 1 - 2 minutes more. Meanwhile, combine corn syrup, sugar, and brown sugar in a large sauce pan and bring to boil. Remove from heat and add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Add Rice Krispies, peanuts, and candy corn. Immediately spoon over marshmallows. Cool completely.
