Dietary guidance: v
1 1/2 cup flour
2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
2 cup fine-cut rolled oats
1 cup ground almonds
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
200g melted butter
Fruit to fill the bottom of your oven dish (See below)
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Store in the fridge or freezer until ready for use.
Makes 4 1/4 cups
You can change flavour by adding chopped up nuts eg walnuts, cashews or pecans. Use other spices eg ground cardamon or allspice for a peach or mango crumble.
For the fruit:
You can use any fruit you like, I filled a dish with cut up rhubarb mixed with 1/4 cup sugar and 2tsp cornflour and cooked for about 20mins, then I added cut up strawberries and cooked for another 10 or so minutes. I then added the topping and pressed it down firmly with the back of a spoon and put in the oven for about 30mins......times change depending on the size, so just judge by how it looks and smells!!
