Mixed Berry Cobbler

6 c mixed berries
1 c crushed pineapple
2/3 c sugar
1/4 c instant tapioca
3/4 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 T sgar
2 T butter
1/2 c heavy cream


Mix together berries and pineapple in a bowl. Toss with 2/3 c sugar and tapioca then set aside. Add up to 1/4 c pineapple juice if mixture is too dry. In mixing bowl, cut together flour, salt, baking powder, 2 T sugar, and butter until the mixture resembles small peas. Slowly add cream, mixing just enough until the dough comes together, Place the berry filling into a 12" dutch oven or Lodge Cast Iron Dutch oven. Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes. Top the filling with the dough shapes. Sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes. If made in cast iron, place ten hot coals underneath and twenty hot coals on top then allow to cook for 30-40 minutes or until done.
