Dill Pickles

4 lbs of 4" pickling cucumbers
1/4 c salt
2 3/4 c vinegar
3 c water
14 sprigs fresh dill
28 peppercorns


Wash cucumbers. Cut in half lengthwise.

Combine salt, vinegar and water. Heat to boiling. Pack cucumbers into clean jars. Add 2 sprigs of dill weed and 4 peppercorns to each jar. Pour vinegar solution over cucumbers to 1/2" from jar top.

Adjust covers. Process filled jars for 10 minutes in boiling water bath.

When cooled, adjust screw-on rings.
