Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
1 c milk
1/2 c gran marnier or orange juice
1 T cinnamon
1 T vanilla
french or italian bread sliced 1" thick
4 apples, cored and sliced
1 T butter
cinnamon and sugar
1/4 c water
1/4 c walnuts
Combine eggs, milk, orange juice, cinnamon, and vanilla. Soak bread in the mixture for 1 hour.
Toast the bread slices in melted butter in a skillet.
In another skillet, melt 1 T butter. Stir in apples, water, and nuts. Season with additional cinnamon and sugar. Steam until apples are tender.
Serve hot apples over toasted bread.
