Basic way to cook rice (e.g. to serve with other stuff)

1/4 teaspoon of Salt or 2 large pinches of the stuff (no more than that, or it tastes like crap when it's ready)
Long Grain rice


Half fill a medium-large saucepan with water + add the salt, crank up the heat on the hob / burner to full blast, find something to keep yourself occupied 'til the water starts bubbling.

Add the Rice.... I usually find about 1/2 a cup of the stuff per person is usually sufficient for a decent sized proportion.

Leave it to boil to buggery for 15-20minutes (or until the water has boiled dry).

Serve the rice.
