Vodka Cocktail Sauce

No, this is not for making vodka cocktails. This is a cocktail sauce for grilled or poached shrimp.

- 4 ripe tomatoes, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- ~1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp. grated fresh horseradish
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 tsp. + Tabasco
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp. vodka (about an airline bottle's worth)
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- Salt and pepper


1. In a blender, combine tomatoes, celery, and onion. Mix until incorporated but still chunky.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste. Chill until ready to use. (The ketchup is the least interesting part, so I'd add about 1/4 cup of that and then add more as needed to get it smooth. For a little spicier, use chili sauce instead of ketchup.)
