Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 TB soy sauce
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 TB finely chopped peeled fresh ginger
12 chicken drumsticks or 8 chicken thighs
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
Cilantro sprigs for garnish
Mix ginger, garlic, honey, soy, hoisin until well mixed.
Score chicken carefully (so marinade can penetrate meat). Pour marinade over chicken and cover. Leave in fridge anywhere from 2 hours to overnight.
Remove chicken from fridge, and add juice of 1/2 lemon to mixture and give a quick stir. Place chicken on foil covered pan. Pour remaining marinade over chicken. Broil 25 - 30 minutes on 2nd rack in oven.
Garnish with cilantro sesame seeds and serve. Sweet!
