peanut butter cup brownies

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners


1 pkg. brownie mix (plus eggs, water, and vegetable oil to prepare browniese)
12 peanut butter cups
2 c. chocolate chips
1 1/4 c. peanut butter
1 T. butter
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup rice krispies


Prepare brownie batter according to package directions. Spread into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped peanut butter cups and bake 4-6 minutes longer. In saucepan, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, butter, and salt. Cook and stir until melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla and cereal. Spread over brownies. Refrigerate 2 hours before cutting.
