2 Sticks Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Water
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Package Chocolate Chips
Other toppings to taste (optional):
Mint pieces


Place butter, sugar, water, and salt in pot. Heat on medium heat. Once butter begins to melt, stir constantly until mixture caramelizes. Then, pour onto flat metal baking dish (rectangle or circle is fine). Immediately cover with chocolate chips, and let sit for ~15 minutes until chips have fully melted. Use a rubber spachela to spread melted chocolate evenly over the top. Let sit for several hours to cool. When cool and hardened, break toffee into pieces and serve.
