Swedish Meatballs

Ingredients

Meatballs:
1 medium onion, diced
2 tablespoons butter
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground pork
2 cups bread crumbs
2 eggs
2 cups milk
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon cloves

Sauce:
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1 (13 1/2 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
Juice from a pineapple
3 tablespoons corn-starch
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushroom
1 small green pepper, sliced
1/2 medium onion, sliced
cherry tomatoes

Method

Meatballs:

Saute onion in butter until transparent; remove from heat. Mis with remaining ingredients. Toss lightly. Form into small balls. brown in frying pan. keep warm and cover with sauce.

Sauce:

Cook vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, pineapple juice until dissolved. Thicken with corn starch intil pudding like consistency. Layer warm meatballs, mushrooms, green peppers, onions and pineapple in casserole. Cover each layer with sauce. continue until all mixtures are used. Garnish with cherry tomatoes before serving.
