Baked Cranberry Christmas

1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 cup milk
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups fresh cranberries
Butter sauce


Cream butter with sugar, add flour, milk, baking powder and salt. Blend well. Fold in the berries. Spread batter in a greased 9-inch square cake pan, or a pretty mold. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Serve warm with the butter sauce.
