Ingredients

2 ½ C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
¼ tsp. ground allspice
1 egg
1 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. dark molasses
6 tlbsp. butter

Method

Mix first 8 dry ingredients together in a bowl. Beat the last four ingredients together in another bowl. Add dry to wet, mix till well blended. cover and refrigerate for one hour. Preheat oven to 350. Roll out dough on flour to about ¼ thick, cut out cookies, decorate, bake 8 minutes, cool on wire rack.
