Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
2 sticks of unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar (I used Dark Brown Sugar)
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
3 cups of Quaker Old Fashioned Oats
Preheat oven to 350.
Cream butter and both sugars together
Then add eggs and vanilla and combine well.
Sift or stir well - flour, baking soda and cinnamon together.
Add sifted flour mix to wet ingredients.
Finally add in the oatmeal and mix well.
Now - you can add whatever -
I've made this recipe and added the following ingredients (the dough above is really just a "carrier" for the goodies)!
- 2 cups chopped dates and 1 cup of white chocolate chips
- 1 cup dried cranberries, 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup dried cranberries, 1 cup walnut baking pieces, 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips, 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 cup dried cranberries, 1 cup pecan pieces, 1 cup milk chocolate chips.
Dropped by little scooper thingy onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes rotating position in your oven about 1/2 way if necessary. My stupid electric oven cooks unevenly so I have to rotate my cookie sheets.
