4 C. cut-up pitted dates
1/4 C. Granulated sugar
1 1/2 C. Water
1 C. Packed brown sugar
1 C. Butter, softened
1 3/4 C. All-Purpose Flour
1/2 t. Salt
1/2 t. Baking soda
1 1/2 C. Quick oats
In a medium sauce pan combine dates, sugar, & water. Cook over low heat about 10-15 minutes till mixture becomes thick and pasty.
Mean while in a bowl, mix softened butter and sugar together, add flour, salt, soda, & oats. Mix with fork till crumbly.
In a greased 9" X 13" glass pan lightly press half of the crust mixture.
After date mixture cools add on top of crust then add rest of crust and press down lightly.
Put in a 400° preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.
Cool and cut.
