8 oz (225g) Self Raising Flour
3 oz (75g) Sugar
3 oz (75g) Margarine or butter
4 oz (100g) Mixed fruit or just currants & sultanas
1 medium sized egg
Little milk to bind
pre-heat oven Gas 7-8 ....... 220-230C....425-450F
Put flour & Sugar into a bowl, rub in the margarine or butter until it looks like fine breadcrumbs. Mix in the fruit. Beat egg with the milk then add to the mixture to make a stiff dough.
Place in 14 heaps on a baking tray. Bake in a hot oven for 20 mins or until golden brown. Place on wire rack and allow to cool..
