1 lb. black beans, dry
1 cup lentils
1 can diced mixed tomatoes & green chiles
1 onion, sliced
6 cloves garlic, crushed
1 16 oz. can beer
1 dried red chile pepper, minced
3 cups chopped turkey
8 cups water or chicken broth
Rinse and sift beans and lentils. Add all ingredients except for chile pepper into slow-cooker, and cook for 5 hours on HIGH setting.
Add chile pepper, and set on LOW for 2 more hours.
Serve with shredded cheese and sour cream on the side.
