Miyeok guk (Beef & seaweed soup)

Many women consume it during the pregnancy. It is also traditionally eaten on birthdays. It's a highly nutritious soup, it is widely consumed in homes and restaurants in Korea. It's great for a hangover, or if you are sick. Another one of my favorites...

Preparation time: 15 Minutes
Cooking time: 40 Minutes

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
Serves: Shitload


1 oz mi yeok (dried seaweed)
4 oz beef
1/2 tsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp sesame oil, salt


Rehydrate dried seaweed in water for 30 minutes. Cut into 2-3 inches. In a pot, add sesame oil, saute beef with soy sauce.Add water and seaweed, bring to a boil. Cover to simmer.
Cook for about 30 minutes until seaweed release the flavor and soup gets milky. I also like to some chopped up tofu and rice for a little something extra.
