Spent Grain Bread

A bread-maker bread recipe utilizing spent grains from homebrewing.

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
Serves: 8

3/4 cups water *
2 1/2 cups white bread flour
1/2 cups wheat bread flour
1 1/2 Tbsp dry milk
2 Tbsp honey
1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
2 Tbsp butter
2 tsp fast rise yeast
~1 cup or more spent grain *


Add ingredients to the bread maker in the order listed. The water content of spent grains varies, so add water if the dough seems dry or flour if it seems wet.

The amount of spent grains to add is up to you, but I find one cup works well.

This makes one "large" 2-lb loaf in a Cuisinart bread maker.
