Beef Stir-Fry

Contains some of my favorite ingredients. To make slicing meat easier, freeze the beef for 1 hour beforehand.

Cooking time: 25 mins

Difficulty: Medium - experience needed
Serves: 4


1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1 pound boneless beef sirloin or beef top round steak , 3/4-inch thick, cut into very thin strips
2 cup sliced Shiitake mushroom (about 4 ounces)
1 medium red pepper , cut into 2-inch-long strips
2 medium green onion , cut into 2-inch pieces (about 1/2 cup)
1 Tablespoon minced Cilantro
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 Cup regular long-grain white rice


Combine 1 and 1/2 cups of water with soy sauce and cayenne pepper.
Heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat, add beef and stir-fry for 5 minutes or until slightly browned.
Add bell pepper, stir-fry 2 minutes.
Mix in rice and soy sauce mixture.
Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Mix in green onions, mushrooms and cilantro.
Remove from heat and let stand covered for 10 minutes.
